SIA Closing Gathering

  • by

We are incredibly grateful that AidMax had the opportunity to take part in this year’s Social Impact Award The Closing Gathering in Berlin was not only the conclusion of an intense summer full of ideas, but also a highlight that left us with renewed motivation, new connections and unforgettable memories. During the Community Voting , we achieved an amazing second place, missing first place by only eight votes. This result makes us incredibly happy and shows just how many people share our vision .

The Social Impact Award supports young people in turning their ideas into social change. Its goal is to promote projects that create a positive impact on society, combine innovation with sustainability and offer real solutions to some of the most pressing challenges of our time. Being part of this inspiring community was a great honor for us and an incredibly valuable learning experience.

An Inspiring Start at KiezLab Berlin

We spent the first two days of the Gathering at KiezLab Berlin, a place that brings together creativity, sustainability and community. We were treated to vegan cappuccinos and delicious bowls and had the chance to exchange ideas with other finalists in an open and welcoming atmosphere. From the moment we entered the building, you could feel the energy and drive of the many young teams presenting their ideas for a better future. With its impressive modern architecture, the venue was the perfect place to start the day feeling inspired and ready to learn something new.

The group photo taken there shows the entire Social Impact Award community. It brings together passionate founders, mentors and organizers who share a commitment to social innovation. The image represents solidarity, diversity and the courage to actively address social challenges. We are proud to be part of this movement and grateful to everyone who supported and inspired us throughout the workshops and sessions.

Workshops, Exchange and Valuable Insights

During our time at KiezLab, we had the opportunity to take part in numerous workshops focusing on topics such as impact measurement, community building and sustainable scaling. What stood out most was the open exchange between the teams. Every idea, whether big or small, was heard and appreciated. For us, it was a valuable opportunity to further develop AidMax and gain new perspectives.

The trainers and coaches of the Social Impact Award brought a great deal of passion and expertise to their work. They helped us define AidMax’s impact more clearly and refine our approach to how we can best support young people in crisis. The entire experience was shaped by mutual support and genuine interest, which made it truly special.

Our Appearance at the Award Ceremony Gathering at bUm Berlin

The highlight of the week was the Award Ceremony at bUm BerlinIn this inspiring venue, known as a space for solidarity and community, all finalists, jury members and guests came together for the official award ceremony. Our AidMax booth was located right by the entrance, where we had the opportunity to welcome visitors and introduce our mission. Our presentation was displayed on a screen, framed by AidMax’s familiar colors of green, pink and white. Beside it were our small “You Matter” cards with QR codes, which many guests picked up with a smile.

The photo shows our booth at bUm, lovingly prepared and filled with everything that represents AidMax: openness, warmth and humanity. It was a special experience to speak with so many interested people, hear their thoughts and see how deeply the topic of mental health resonates with them. The atmosphere in the room was full of energy, creativity and appreciation.

A Place for Connection and Inspiration

The Closing Gathering was more than just an event. It was a place where ideas, courage and community came together. We not only learned how to structure and present projects, but also how important it is to supportone another. Our conversations with the other finalists showed us that every vision matters and that change often begins with small steps.

We are taking many valuable insights home with us. Above all, we are grateful for the people we had the chance to meet, the experiences that helped us grow and the inspiration that continues to drive us to develop AidMax further. This journey once again confirmed how important mental health, empathy and a sense of community are in our time.
