We are very pleased that Munich University of Applied Sciences<\/a> has featured AidMax<\/a> and our vision. Our goal is to give young people a way to express their thoughts and feelings during difficult moments and to help them access appropriate support as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the title \u201eReden rettet Leben\u201c<\/strong><\/a> , Munich University of Applied Sciences presents AidMax in its science magazine as an AI-supported chatbot designed to provide young people with anonymous, easily accessible and around-the-clock initial support during mental health crises. This feature is especially meaningful to us, as Munich University of Applied Sciences has been closely connected to the creation and continued development of AidMax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a Master\u2019s Thesis at Munich University of Applied Sciences to AidMax<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The story of AidMax an der Hochschule M\u00fcnchen<\/strong> began long before it grew into a larger social project. The original idea was shaped by personal experiences of loneliness and, in particular, by the loss of a young person in the personal circle to suicide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This led to a question that remains at the heart of our work today: How can support still be accessible when there is no one available to talk to?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of a master\u2019s thesis at the AidMax at Munich University of Applied Science<\/a> , this question was developed into an initial scientific and technical approach. The aim was not simply to use artificial intelligence as an information system, but to create a digital conversation partner that listens, responds with empathy and encourages people to express their feelings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step by step, this master\u2019s thesis evolved into today\u2019s AidMax project<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listening When No One Else Is There<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An important aspect highlighted in the article by Munich University of Applied Sciences is the low-threshold accessibility of the service. Young people should be able to share their thoughts and receive an immediate response. The development of AidMax draws on insights from a range of scientific and practical perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This combination is essential to AidMax. Artificial intelligence alone is not enough for such a sensitive area of application. Technology needs to be developed alongside psychological expertise, ethical considerations, data protection and, above all, the real needs of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this reason, we explicitly do not see AidMax as a replacement for psychologists or other professional support services. Instead, we want to create an additional form of support that is accessible as early as possible and, when needed, helps people find their way to professional help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a Master\u2019s Thesis to a PhD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What began as a master\u2019s thesis is now being continued as academic research. As part of a PhD at the Doctoral Center for Applied Computer Science at Munich University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with OTH Regensburg, the technological and scientific foundations of AidMax are being further developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One important research question is what additional information a person\u2019s voice can provide, for example. In the future, this could enable AidMax to respond even more effectively to each person\u2019s individual situation. At the same time, work is continuing on additional features designed to improve access to AidMax and enable more personalized support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scientific evaluation remains a central part of the development process. The PhD is supervised by Prof. Dr. Markus Endres<\/strong> New approaches are not intended to be implemented without further scrutiny, but rather to be scientifically evaluated and further developed together with relevant experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bringing Science and Entrepreneurship Together<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

However, Munich University of Applied Sciences supports AidMax<\/strong> not only on an academic level. Another important connection is through the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SCE creates an environment in which ideas can develop into concrete projects and sustainable innovations. For AidMax, this connection is particularly valuable because our goal is not only to generate scientific knowledge. In the long term, the research should also reach the places where it can create real social impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Precelerator des Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship<\/a> has also already given us opportunities to work creatively, put new ideas into practice and connect with other committed people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This combination of scientific research, entrepreneurship, psychology, technology and social engagement is particularly important for the continued development of AidMax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Future of AidMax at Munich University of Applied Sciences<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The next steps are already underway. AidMax will continue to be scientifically evaluated, technically improved and made accessible to more young people in the long term. Personalized support, new forms of interaction and the scientific study of communication between humans and artificial intelligence are important parts of its continued development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the long term, our vision goes even further. AidMax should not only provide support in Munich, but eventually enable young people beyond regional and national borders to access help as easily as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What began as a master\u2019s thesis at Munich University of Applied Sciences is continuing to evolve into an interdisciplinary project that brings together research, technology, psychology, entrepreneurship and social engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And despite all the technological development, the idea behind AidMax remains surprisingly simple: No one should have to feel alone during a mental health crisis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
