{"id":1467,"date":"2025-09-12T16:06:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T14:06:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aidmax.org\/?p=1467"},"modified":"2026-07-09T21:36:54","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T19:36:54","slug":"mediapsych-aidmax-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aidmax.org\/en\/blog\/2025\/09\/12\/mediapsych-aidmax-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"MediaPsych 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>At <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-due.de\/media-psych-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MediaPsych 2025<\/a><\/strong> at the University of Duisburg-Essen, <strong>Korbinian<\/strong> had the opportunity to present the results of his <a href=\"https:\/\/aidmax.org\/en\/projekt-details\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"12\">master's thesis<\/a> The thesis was completed at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hm.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Munich University of Applied Sciences<\/a> under the supervision of <strong>Prof. Dr. Markus Endres<\/strong> and is titled <strong>\u201eAidMax \u2013 Chatbot Integration to Fight Teen Depression in Instagram\u201c<\/strong>. Its goal is to use artificial intelligence to give young people in crisis new hope and greater mental resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"einblicke-in-die-prasentation\">Insights from the Presentation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The presentation took place in one of the lecture halls at the University of Duisburg-Essen and was part of the scientific program of the MediaPsych conference. The large screen displayed AidMax\u2019s distinctive pink design with the smiling mascot, a symbol of warmth, empathy and courage. Next to it was the title of the Master\u2019s thesis, accompanied by the logo of Munich University of Applied Sciences. The image symbolized the connection between research, technology and psychological support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the presentation, Korbinian explained how AidMax combines empathetic AI with safe communication to offer young people a new form of support. He showed how the chatbot was integrated into Instagram to reach young people directly in an environment they already use. He also presented the different layers of the system, from its technical architecture and psychological design to its practical use in everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A particular highlight was the presentation of results from the anonymous chat dialogues, which illustrated AidMax\u2019s natural and warm tone. They showed how the bot responds with understanding in difficult moments, uses simple language and helps build trust. The connection to a Telegram-based emergency network was also explained, which is activated when a user shows signs of acute suicidal risk. This hybrid concept combining AI and human support generated a great deal of interest among those attending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"wissenschaftliche-ergebnisse\">Scientific Findings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Young people found the chatbot\u2019s warm and clear tone particularly supportive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Short, vivid responses helped build trust and a sense of closeness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>M\u00e4nnliche Nutzer bevorzugten eine etwas neutralere Ansprache, w\u00e4hrend andere Gruppen emotionale W\u00e4rme sch\u00e4tzten<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Even users who remained silent and did not respond showed reactions that suggested emotional relief.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These findings show that AI does not have to feel cold or distant. With thoughtful design, it can offer hope, communicate understanding and contribute to the prevention of mental health crises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"zukunft-von-aidmax\">The Future of AidMax<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the future, AidMax is planned to include a voice feature to make conversations feel even more natural and human. The system is also intended to be hosted locally within the EU to further strengthen data protection standards. Through partnerships with schools, social initiatives and cities, AidMax aims to become accessible to even more young people. The first image shows a slide from the MediaPsych presentation featuring the green AidMax mascot giving a thumbs-up beside the presentation title, a friendly symbol of hope and courage. It also shows the presenter during the talk, focused and engaged in front of the pink screen with the AidMax logo.
